The stairs are quite steep, but there is a railing that they could lean on if it gets difficult. As long as they take their time they should be fine. Remember to use insect repellent too, as I got bitten by mosquitoes a couple of times while walking down the stairs.

It's not a stupid question but is difficult to answer. You would have to keep a close eye on your child ( I'm not implying you don't) but it is a bit dodgy if the child wandered off to explore. There is a pool to the right of the stairs where it is safe but the large slide is not very far away. I don't want to paint a horrible picture for you because it is a great place to go. I would just make sure the child is with you at all times. Hope you enjoy.

I went to samoa tourism website and it says it is open Mon to Sun. Also, on a side note Tu sua trench is also open on sundays as we went there on a Sunday. I hope this helps.
